There are a lot of empty shops in nearby High Street. This strip perhaps has its own characteristics, so I'm not sure if the vacancies are an indication of localised retail malaise.
Or are these vacancies symptomatic of broader issues, perhaps the changing nature of retail (especially with the advent of on-line shopping) or even issues regarding the economy as a whole? The former Nicks wine shop is one of many that are empty.
