The William formerly Communications House

For how many years has the former Telecom high-rise building in William Street been vacant?   It seems an eternity (Telstra's present building in Exhibition Street was opened in 1992!).  One report on the internet stated that the building, called Communications House, had become infamous as a ''ghost building'', having been locked up and vacant since 1994. But very recently, activity has commenced at the site.   It seems the building is to be re-developed for residential accommodation.

Judging by the fact that signs of life have only recently appeared, I assume that the main work to date has been in relation to marketing activities in the foyer and perhaps on a display suite.
